We
closely
monitor
all Galapagos yachts and
strongly depend on our client Galapagos cruise feedback reports to
steer our clients towards recommended Galapagos options and away from
questionable options. Keep in mind that there is wide selection
of Galapagos boats, not all of which we recommend to our clients (i.e.,
unreliable and/or unethical yacht operator, consitent mechanical
problems, poor quality naturalist guide etc).
As a potential Galapagos cruise passenger, you will have to decide
if quality or price is the most important aspect in selecting a
cruise. What is true, regardless of the Galapagos boat in
question is that the onboard naturalist guide on any given cruise will
make one of the biggest differences in your overall cruise experience.
The truth is that real Galapagos cruise reports give our clients a more
accurate assessment of the respective quality of the yachts.
Galapagos boat technical details (i.e., size, capacity, itinerary etc),
along with the photographs (interior and exterior) do give you an idea
of the options, but real, honest Galapagos cruise comments give you a
more accurate notion of what a cruise is like.
Galapagos cruise boats vary in the following:
- Itinerary
- most have very similar itineraries, while a limited number visit the
western islands of Isabela and/or Fernandina, or Genovesa;
- Passenger
capacity - the majority have a capacity for 16 people, allocated
into 8 double cabins. A limited number (mainly the Deluxe class
cruise ships) have capacity for up to 100 people;
- Bedding
arrangements - the majority of Galapagos boats have double
cabins with private facilities and upper/lower (bunk bed) berths.
Two lower twin beds, one large double bed or triple accommodation are
mainly limited to upper First class and Deluxe class options;
- Activities
- Galapagos cruise activites, such as swimming, snorkeling, hiking etc
are very similar from Galapagos cruise to Galapagos cruise;
- Type of
Galapagos boat - there are several types of Galapagos boats: (1)
sailing; (2) motor sailers; (3) motor; (4) sailing catamarans; (5)
motor catamarans and (6) cruise ship.
